Yesterday was a good day.....

even though I didn't sleep well. I kept waiting for this little one to wake up. But she didn't.
10pm to 7am - at six weeks. Incredible.

Harrison painted and painted and painted....

Ava smiled at me.......a lot......

Harrison did his own version of snowboard cross in our living room (Olympics how we love thee!)....

and we had a new faucet installed in our kitchen - I love it.

I capped off the day with a night out with two of my nearest and dearest girlfriends - a much needed dinner that made me get OUT of my sweats and into real jeans (no belly panel here folks!). Loved it!

Harrison's first artistic rendition of his family......
not too shabby for a 2 1/2 year old. Love him.

Harrisonisms

Me: Have you finished your lunch?
H: Yeah......I did.......but.......it was horrible.

Me: H? Would you like your vitamin?
H: Yes. But don't eat it. It's yucky for you - not me.

Harrison praying: Bless to be careful with the computer and please be nice to mommy.

Me: Would you like the crust?
H: No. It's not for my body. It's just for you.

My Little Ones

Ava is four weeks old, and Harrison can't wait for her to grow up. After every nap he asks - 'Is she big yet?'

Conversations with Harrison at 2 1/2

Me: Harrison? Would you like to come lay down with me and take a nap?

Harrison: (Thinking....) Well.........no.

Me: Why not?

Harrison: Well.....you are bothering me.

-------

Harrison: (holding up his empty hands) Hey mommy, look at this sacrament.

Me: Sacrament? What is a sacrament?

Harrison: It is this mountain volcano where Bobafet (Star Wars) and Raja the Giant Tiger (Aladdin) live.

Me: Are you sure it is not taking the bread and water at church?

Harrison: No. It is a volcano that spits out hot lava and smoke and fire. And.....I don't like bread.

Trying to feed the baby

For the most part, Harrison has adjusted very well to a new baby sister in the house. He occasionally acts like a baby, or has a minute or two of "HOLD ME!" episodes, but for the most part he is doing really well. Until the other day...

Nursing the baby is proving to be an issue. While roaring at the baby like a T-Rex, climbing all over me trying to push me off of the couch, and trying to pull the baby's hair while she was eating - he alternated shouting the following two phrases at me:

"DON'T FEED THE BABY! SHE IS NOT HUNGRY!"

and then real kicker.....over and over and over.....

"GET THAT DRINKING THING OUT OF HER MOUTH!!"

Overheard

H talking on his phone (the TV remote):

Hi Nanna - its me - Harrison David Howe.
(pause)
Yep.
(pause)
I'm just hanging here. I got your message.
(pause)
I love grape juice.
Does Uncle John like grape juice?
Does Asher like grape juice
Does Ivy like grape juice?
(pause)
Oh she does? She is so cute.
(pause)
Yes I read my book - the caterpillar was very hungry. Then it turned into a butterfly --- called metamorphosis.
(pause)
OK - I sure love you - bye.
